ABOUT RENEE DANIEL FLAGLER
Renee Daniel Flagler is an award-winning writer, adjunct professor, and a speaker who is passionate about encouraging women and youth to pursue their passion and purpose. Over the years, Renee has published multiple fiction books including several romance titles under the pen name, Nicki Night. Renee’s book Society Wives has been optioned for film. Renee is also working on the release of her first non-fiction title, Dream Journey: 7 Steps for Turning your Passion Into Your Lifestyle. She is often called on to speak to groups of woman and young people about finding their passion and purpose. To fulfill her passion for teaching the written word, Renee facilitates literacy programs, develops curriculum and teaches creative writing to students from kindergarten to college.
Renee is also the Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Long Island, whose mission is to empower girls to be strong, smart and bold. As an advocate for youth both in the United States and abroad, Renee had served as a founding board member and former Board Chair for LEAP (Literacy Empowerment Action Project) Global, an organization with a mission to provide innovative literacy, youth empowerment programming, and high school scholarships to students in Ghana, Africa. Renee has been honored for her writing and community service work by several organizations including The City of Long Beach, NewYork Association of Black Journalists, and Black Star News.
The Renee Daniel Flagler Scholarship Program
The Renee Daniel Flagler Literary Scholarship provides $1000 in financial support to a graduating high school student in Nassau County demonstrating interest in English, Writing, Literature, Journalism or other writing or publishing disciplines.
The Renee Daniel Flagler Empowerment Scholarship provides $1000 in financial support to graduating high school students in Nassau County who demonstrate a commitment to community service and an interest in empowering others.
As a published writer, instructor, and advocate for literacy, The Scholarship Program is part of Renee's personal commitment to community service and a desire to empower students who demonstrate a passion for the written word. The academic awards are intended to assist with the cost of tuition for accredited colleges/universities or assist with the cost of books and supplies.
